2. The 52 Stories Genealogy Project

I was invited to do a 52 Stories project where I answer one question about myself per week, as thoroughly as I can. I don’t write on paper in books anymore, so I am typing my journal. And, trying to be honest is ripping layers from my soul. How raw is this gonna get?

The question list is below, as new questions are sent to me I will add them to the list. The answer page is here and updated as I go. Let me just say now that if I didn’t live this, I wouldn’t believe it. But, believe this, I called upon all the Gods almost daily. I didn’t care which one responded.

Genealogists encourage people to write journals for their descendants, & I am no exception. My problem here is that I am a bit uncomfortable talking about me, I am used to being the one everyone offloads their thoughts to. I don’t know how much of me I should share while I am still alive. And, while my kids are still alive to read about mama before she was mama. I am, afterall, a descendant of Sarah Fuller, the same Sarah Fuller that Marilyn descends from. I have the DNA to prove it. I used to think that I am the way I am because I had to be. I don’t think that’s true now. I think my ass would have been on fire even if I had the best parents.

Here goes…

Edit: While answering these, I recognized that some Qs needed further explanation, so, to avoid harsh judgment of my younger self that would reflect poorly on my present self, I dedicated an entire page to certain situations. When an answer to a question is on another page within another story, I link to the page. Additionally, I had to swipe questions from other similar projects because I can’t answer questions about my bio family, in most cases. When I can, I will, because it’s important for this cause.
